Kashima Here I Come!

I could not be any happier with these pictures that I took in our own backyard.

 Kashima, here I come!

Setsuko and I previously took a short trip to Kashima, a very nice coastal community close to a large lake.

We very much enjoyed Kashima and thought it would be a good place for a second home. 

In addition, my cycling scene has become quite complicated due to the cycling rules and related insurance guidelines. 

Because of the pinched nerve in my neck, I decided to get the following bike.

While it is a great bike, it is challenging to ride this bike on the bike paths in our current area, as those paths can be very crowded.  

 

As we struggled with these issues, we realized that Kashima would be the perfect solution; it has a wonderful bike path and road that goes around this big lake. 

We immediately scheduled another day trip to Kashima and bought a house!

This house is one mile from the lake and cycling heaven! 

By train and bus, the Kashima house is about four hours from our current home in Fuchu.

 

I will be moving into the new home on July 14th.

The new bike is due to arrive at the beginning of August. 

I will continue tutoring.

Setsuko will stay in Fuchu, with occasional visits to Kashima, and vice versa for me.  

 

We decided to buy a solar system for our house in Fuchu. 

It was an offer too good to refuse, as we will get a rebate that will cover three-quarters of the cost!

However, as part of this solar deal, we cannot sell our Fuchu house for three years. 

During that period, we will manage the two homes.
