Kashima Jingu Torii!
These are some of my favorite shots from my first photography session at Lake Kitaura,
It is a beautiful lake!
What a joy it was to enjoy my bike while enjoying the scenery.
This ride was faster than my previous rides due to the fact that there was no wind.
I was cruising!
The amazing red figure is the Kashima Jingu Torii.
It is Japan’s largest water torii gate!
Unfortunately, they are currently doing some construction, so it was difficult to get good photos, but I managed a few. More to come!
I am slowly but surely discovering the photo gems in the area. The good news is that I will share those with you as the adventures unfold!
A quick update on the reading front.
I am currently reading "Supercommunicators", by Charles Duhigg.
A fascinating book that looks at the types of conversations we have.
#1: What's This Really About? Problem solving and rational (hopefully!) discussion.
#2: How Do We Feel? Emotions, feelings, and requests for empathy.
#3: Who Are We? Our social mindsets and our relationships with others.
Duhigg talks about the importance of having the same conversation at the same time with another person. When two people are not having the same type of conversation with each other, their needs and desires are different. This leads to classic communication problems: misunderstandings and a lack of connection.

北浦湖での初めての撮影セッションで撮ったお気に入りの写真です。

読書について少し近況報告です。
現在、チャールズ・デュヒッグ著の『スーパーコミュニケーターズ』を読んでいます。
私たちが交わす会話の種類について考察した、とても興味深い本です。
#1：これは一体何なの？問題解決と（願わくば！）理性的な議論。
#2：私たちはどう感じているのか？感情、気持ち、そして共感を求めること。
#3：私たちは何者なのか？私たちの社会的思考様式と他者との関係性。
デュヒッグは、相手と同時に同じ会話をすることの重要性について述べています。二人が同じ種類の会話をしていないと、ニーズや欲求が異なってしまいます。これは、誤解や繋がりの欠如といった、典型的なコミュニケーションの問題につながります。
